This Privacy Policy explains how opentalk.club ("we", "us", or "our"), operated by Jeet Productions, collects, uses, and protects information when you use our random video chat website. By using the site, you agree to the practices described here.

Because no account or registration is required, we collect only the minimum data needed to operate the service:

  • IP address — used to match you with a partner and for abuse prevention (ban enforcement).
  • Browser & device information — user-agent string, screen resolution, and preferred language, collected automatically when you connect.
  • Session data — connection timestamps, session duration, and skip/report events recorded to improve matching quality and enforce safety rules.
  • WebRTC connection data — ICE candidates and TURN relay metadata required to establish peer-to-peer video connections. Video and audio streams are not stored by us.

We do not record or store video or audio from your chats.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To connect you with a random partner for video or text chat.
  • To enforce bans and prevent abusive behaviour.
  • To monitor and improve service performance and reliability.
  • To comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We use minimal browser storage:

  • Theme preference — stored in localStorage so your dark/light mode choice persists.
  • Session token — a short-lived, anonymous token stored in memory or sessionStorage for the duration of your visit; it is not linked to any personal identity.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

6. Data Retention

Session logs (IP, timestamps, event data) are retained for up to 30 days for abuse investigation purposes, then automatically deleted. We do not retain any video or audio content.

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS encryption for all connections and encrypted WebRTC streams between peers. While we strive to protect your data, no internet transmission is 100% secure.

8. Children's Privacy

This site is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the service, please contact us immediately at hello@opentalk.club.

9. Your Rights

Since we do not collect personally identifiable information beyond your IP address (which is not linked to your identity in our systems), there is no personal profile to access or delete. If you have concerns about data associated with your IP, you may contact us and we will address your request within a reasonable time.

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes are effective immediately upon posting. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.

11. Premium Payments & Restore

When you purchase a Premium pass, our payment provider (Razorpay) collects the email address and phone number you enter at checkout. We store a one-way hash of those values so you can re-claim the remaining time on a different browser or device via the Restore premium option in the menu. We never share or sell this information.

Accuracy disclaimer. The email and phone number used for restore are supplied by you to the payment provider. We do not verify them and we do not guarantee their accuracy. If you mistype the email or phone, you may not be able to restore your entitlement on another device. Please double-check the details you enter during checkout. If you lose access, contact support@opentalk.club with your Razorpay payment ID and we will help recover the pass.
